Quit Talking And Stop The Mental Chatter All At The Same Time

Mental Chatter is something that a lot of us suffer from. I have found that it originates when we feel the need to control the person, place or situation at hand.

Example: Picture a typical opposites attract couple and in this scenario the man is outgoing and the woman is the introvert. There names = John and Mary

John and Mary would like to sell their house. Mary has a full time job and John works from home.

John likes to putts around the house and then brag about how much he gets done during the day, according to Mary.

John and Mary have sat down and prioritized the realtors suggestions on what they thought should be done to the house before listing it.

Mary is at work all day but her mental chatter is interfering with her work performance and concentration because all she thinks about is the list and how nothing is getting done, at home, by John. She calls all her friends and complains about how John never accomplishes anything he just talks and yells at her if she brings it up. She calls her mother and sisters. Then she calls John and asks what he has done and he just starts in not really answering her question at all. Her mental chatter has increased 10 fold because her friends and family continue to listen to her complain which amplifies Marys need to control John and the selling of the house situation. Also, because she calls John knowing what the outcome will be but doing the same thing expecting different results and this keeps her in the need to control feeling which in turn, once again, increases her mental chatter.

If Mary would Quit Talking, to her friends and family about John and their situations, her Mental Chatter would slow and leave room for Mary to fill the extra space in her mind with Daily Affirmations, Motivational Sayings and Mantra Meditations. As soon as Mary starts to fill her mind with Daily Affirmations, Motivational Sayings and Mantra Meditations she would immediately feel release, from her need to control and she would have the power of positive thinking and a positive attitude to move forward in her personal and work fulfillment.

I, Carrie, am definitely, one who felt the need to be in control of all people, places and situations. This did derive from my childhood because I was not taught consistency and discipline at a young age. Although, I was taught everything that was not done correctly and therefore learned how to control situations to go differently the next time so the option of doing it right this time was available. I have learned a lot of different ways to approach people, places and situations trying to find the right way of doing IT. Whatever IT was. We can look at all these different ways of approach as opportunities which I do or we can look at them as Mental Chatter because I was always trying to saturate the need to feel in control.

Actually, back in the day it was Mental Chatter because I would call everyone I could and complain about the person, place or situation that took place at that time. I would talk to so many people it was sick and it made me sick mentally, physically and spiritually to keep dwelling on the same things and doing the same thing expecting different results.

Once I learned how to apply Daily Affirmations, Mantra Meditations and Motivational Sayings I learned to SHUT UP. Honestly, I noticed once I stopped complaining about every other person, place or situation I did not have much to say. Bottom line is I had to learn self honesty and how to live from within.

Quit Talking and Live From Within.

P.S. Do you do the following daily?:

Daily affirmations
Positive attitude
Power of positive thinking
Mantra meditation
Motivational saying

Honestly, daily affirmations changed my life. I was depressed for two years and wanted to blow my 18 years of sobriety and then I started using daily affirmations and now I have 22 years of sobriety and went off of all my medications for depression and anxiety. Be Free. I AM Free to be me!

How To Improve Concentration And Mental Alertness

One of the most important things to control your own mind is concentration. In this article I have focused the incredible power of concentration and mental alertness. If you learn how to develop your concentration level or what are the exercises that help you to improve you concentration, you are on the right track to improve your personality. Your mind which you do have been in command of over, gives you tremendous power. Only with the help of concentration you can control your mind.

Exercise can organize your mind; you can get the rest of those never-ending other parts of the universe to begin to march in formation. No one would intentionally create failure, or bad relationships, or any other pain. You can only do something that is not good for you, if you do it without thinking. This means if you are creating something you dont want, you must not be doing so without thinking. The key is to become more conscious, more aware stop creating all the dramas and other waste you dont want in your life. You can do yoga, exercises to increase your ability to be consciously alert.

As you continue with the exercises and yoga, doing this your mind becomes more concentrated and inner part of you becomes stronger and stronger. You can help things along, however, by remembering and using a very important part of wisdom. Its the reality that whatever you focus on manifests as reality in your life. You are always concentrating on something, whether you are conscious of it or not. If I spent some time with you, and heard your history, I could tell you what you are concentrating on. The outcomes you get are always the effect of your concentration.

The difficulty is that this concentration is usually not conscious focus, its automatic focus. We automatically concentrate on something we dont want, and then when we get it we experience like a victim and dont even stop to think that we created it in the first place. And what is more, we dont understand we could choose to create something entirely different if we could choose to create something fully different if we could only get out of the cycle of automatically concentrating on something other than what we want.

There are some people out there who can and will harm you. Relationships can be unsafe and painful. You have to watch out for these people or from time to time, relationships in general and avoid them. Unluckily, to watch out for them and keep away from them, you have to concentrate your mind on people who could hurt you, or bad relationships, and that concentration draws more of what you dont want to do. So when they come into view in your life you are drawn to them. This is why many people prefer to have one relationship after another with the same person, but in different bodies.

Concentrating on what you do not want, paradoxically, makes it happen. Concentrating on not being poor makes you poor. Concentrating on not making mistakes causes you to make mistakes. Concentrating on not having a bad relationship creates bad relationships. This all happens only if you have lack of concentration. So it is important to develop your concentration level to achieve great success in life.

Group B Strep Leaves Baby With Quadriplegia And Mental Retardation After Pediatrician Missed Signs

A Group B Strep infection can have severe consequences on a baby and can develop and cause injury suddenly and quickly doctors generally agree that antibiotics should be administered as soon as a baby shows signs of infection rather than wait for test results which can take 48-72 hours. If test results later come back negative, antibiotics can be stopped. Failure to recognize the signs of infection or to treat them immediately with antibiotics may result in medical malpractice.

Consider, for example, a reported case in which the baby’s mother had tested negative for Group B Strep during the pregnancy and neither the mother nor the baby showed any of the risk factors for neonatal sepsis (such as preterm delivery, rupture of the membranes lasting longer than 18 hours prior to delivery, and infection of the placental tissues and amniotic fluid).

The pediatrician was present in the delivery room. Within three hours of being born the baby started experiencing respiratory distress, had problems feeding, and his extremities started showing diminished perfusion (which can lead to decreased tissue oxygen delivery).

The pediatrician was called two times by the nurses about these developments. The pediatrician ordered pulse oximetry but did not examine the baby. Pulse oximetry is a noninvasive method of monitoring the oxygenation of the baby’s hemoglobin. The results were normal as were the results of the CBC and urine bacterial antigen tests ordered by the pediatrician after the baby’s birth. Over the course of the next 11 hours after the initial onset of symptoms, the baby’s respiratory and feeding problems seemed to resolve but the perfusion problems did not change.

The pediatrician claimed to have examined the baby 14 hours after birth. There was no record in the chart of the pediatrician conducting a full examination of the baby. There was only an entry indicating that the baby was normal in all respects, active, pink, alert and feeding well. The pediatrician then left the hospital.

Entries in the chart over the course of the next 12 hours documented that the baby’s perfusion problems continued. Then, 26 1/2 hours after being born the baby again developed respiratory and feeding problems. The staff called the pediatrician approximately 1 1/2 hours after these symptoms returned.

The pediatrician immediately returned to the hospital, diagnosed the baby with septic shock, and transferred him to the Intensive Care Unit. The baby required resuscitation. He was transferred five hours later to a medical center where he could receive more specialized care and remained there for an extended stay.

The baby had suffered from meningitis due to a Group B Strep infection. The meningitis, in turn, resulted in quadriplegia and mental retardation. Had the pediatrician administered antibiotics prior to leaving the hospital, the baby would not have developed meningitis and would not suffer from quadriplegia or mental retardation.

A lawsuit was filed on behalf of the baby and his parents. The case went to trial where the plaintiffs presented evidence that the pediatrician (1) should have conducted a full sepsis workup 3 hours after delivery, when the baby first started showing symptoms (2) should have immediately started the baby on antibiotics and (3) should have left clear instructions for the nurses to contact him immediately of any change in condition. The jury returned a verdict in favor of the plaintiffs and the law firm that represented them reported the case then settled for $1.0 Million, the policy limits.

This case illustrates the importance of reacting quickly to signs of infection in a newborn. While the pediatrician took the position that the initial respiratory and perfusion problems were explainable as side effects of issues other than infection, that the feeding problems had resolved before he left, and that the test results were negative, the fact remains that the baby did have a Group B Strep infection and that early administration of antibiotics, as most doctors would recommend, would have prevented his lifelong disabilities.

Dating Someone Who Is On Medication

The term “mentally ill” is being used more and more and in some instances it is a bit misleading. Many people assume that everyone who is on medication for any mental issues is “mentally ill” but this is probably not a fair statement.

You may have been dating someone for awhile and recently they just don’t you that they are on medication for depression and you are wondering if you should be dating someone who is mentally ill, the fact of the matter is that they probably aren’t really ill, in fact someone who takes medication is ahead of the game because they are preventing mental illness from taking hold.

If you do know that the person you are dating is taking medications, you should embrace it and help the person be the best that they can be. You should also try to understand the mental issues that the medications are addressing.

For instance, if the person you are dating is taking medications for depression that is one thing, but if they are taking medications for bipolar disorder it is something different. You should know what your love interest is being medicated for and why. This can help you understand one another better and help you not judge them for something you don’t understand.

You should know that a good percentage of people are on some sort of medication or have sought treatment for what could be considered a “mental illness” by some. You need to remember that dating someone who is on some sort of medication is not rare and it doesn’t have to be something that you are afraid of. You just need to be very open about it and decide for yourself who you can date and who you cannot.

If you are dating someone who really needs medications for a mental illness you should be prepared for the fact that a lot of people try to go off of their medications on their own. This can cause big changes in moods and personalities and you need to decide for yourself if you can continue to be around someone who will not stay on their medication. This is why it is important for you to understand what your friend is suffering from and how you can help.

The stigma attached to mental illness is not what it once was. Now people are encouraged to get the help that they need so they can be the people they were meant to be aside from depression or other issues. If you find that someone that you like is being treated for a mental illness, don’t write them off just based on this. Instead, slow down and consider how you can help and how much you like the person!
